Who pays for supported living?

Support is commonly funded through a local authority personal budget or direct payments following a care needs assessment, and can also be privately arranged. We are happy to help you navigate the process.

Does Crossways provide the housing too?

We provide the support rather than the tenancy, which keeps your housing rights independent of your care provider, and we work comfortably alongside housing associations and private landlords.

How is supported living different from home care?

Home care mostly does things for you; supported living builds your ability to do things yourself. Sessions focus on skills, confidence and community as much as day-to-day tasks.

Support is built with the person, not around them. That might mean help with budgeting, cooking and tenancy paperwork, support into college, volunteering or work, or simply the confidence of knowing skilled backup is on hand.

We work with families, social workers and local teams across Lincolnshire, and support plans that use direct payments or personal budgets. Independence is the outcome we measure ourselves against: the goal is always more capability, not more dependence.
