Paying for care

Funding, without the jargon

Almost everyone starts here, unsure whether the council pays, whether they pay, or how to find out. This is how it works in Lincolnshire.
  • Everyone starts with an assessment

Anyone who may need care can ask their local authority for a needs assessment. It is free, and it looks at both the support you need and how it could be paid for. Lincolnshire County Council considers every person case by case.

  • If the council contributes

Where you qualify for full or part funding, the council arranges care from its approved provider list. You can also ask for a direct payment instead: a personal budget paid to the person using the service, so the choice of provider stays yours. We support direct payment arrangements.

  • If you arrange it yourself

If you do not qualify, the council still gives you a list of providers who can help privately. The same applies when you are part funded and paying the difference yourself.

We keep a full private price list and we are glad to talk it through rather than leave you guessing at a PDF. Tell us a little about your situation and we will call you back.

Not sure which service fits?

That is completely normal, most families are not. One conversation usually makes it clear.
